On the last day of winter, February 29, 2020, at Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology, Ust-Kamenogorsk, a Model United Nations School Conference was organised by the school MUN club, OskeMUN.
100 students, an unprecedented number of participants, from Grades 9-11, registered and joined one of the 4 committees, chaired by more experienced Grade 11 and 12 club members.
The best delegates in the UNDP, UNODC, UNSC and WHO committees were rewarded according to 5 categories. As is tradition, awards were given for The BEST DELEGATE, HONOURABLE MENTION and The BEST POSITION PAPER. Two ‘new’ categories were also introduced, OBSERVERS’ CHOICE and MOST PROMISSING JUNIOUR DELEGATE. Nominees for the latter category were selected exclusively among the 9th graders, as they are, ultimately, the future of the OskeMUN club.
